At the age of 17, Angela Rose (last name not used) was kidnapped at knifepoint in the parking lot of a suburban Chicago mall. As her ordeal unfolded over the next few hours, she didn't know if she would survive.
Her abductor had blindfolded her - and didn't know that Angela Rose could still see to either side. She noticed and remembered this village sticker on his car's windshield as he drove her to a forest preserve. Later on, this detail would help identify her attacker as Robert Koppa.
The sketch was so accurate that when it was shown on TV, a detective from a nearby town was able to identify Koppa as the suspect. The detective was familiar with Koppa's life-long history of crime - including murder.
