Petraeus' mistress Paula Broadwell

FBI investigators who were checking into a security issue involving the CIA Director's computer stumbled upon emails between Petraeus and Broadwell.

Broadwell was a writer and reserve Army officer who wrote the 2012 book "All In: The Education of General David Petraeus."

Journalist Paula Broadwell was embedded in Afghanistan with Petraeus July 2010 through July 2011, while he led the International Security Assistance Force there.

A Harvard University research associate and Ph.D. candidate at King's College London, Paula Broadwell was granted extensive access to Gen. David Petraeus in Afghanistan to write his biography.

In a March 2012 interview with CBS News' Jeff Glor, Paula Broadwell said of David Petraeus, "I got to see a more personal side . . . he's confident, but he is also very compassionate about the loss of troops and the sacrifices we're making in Afghanistan on the front lines."

From a video broadcasted on Nov. 17, 2012, Paula Broadwell and her husband arrived at her brother's home in Washington, D.C. In an apparent show of marital solidarity, the couple walked arm-in-arm from the garage to the house.
