The Coen brothers' Western remake "True Grit" ran second with 10 nominations, including acting honors for Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld and a directing nomination for the Coens.

Facebook drama "The Social Network" earned eight nominations overall, including ones for best picture, actor Jesse Eisenberg, director David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin's adapted screenplay.

Boxing biopic "The Fighter" earned seven nominations, including best picture, two supporting actress nominations (Melissa Leo and Amy Adams), a directing nomination for David O. Russell and a best supporting actor nomination for Christian Bale.
Fox Searchlight
Ballet thriller "Black Swan" walked away with five nominations, including ones for best picture, director Darren Aronofsky and actress Natalie Portman.
Focus Features
The lesbian family tale "The Kids are All Right" earned a best actress nomination for Annette Bening and a best supporting actor nomination for Mark Ruffalo. The film received four nominations overall.
Warner Bros.
Dream thriller "Inception" earned honors for best picture and Christopher Nolan's original screenplay, along with nominations in technical categories like art direction, cinematography, sound mixing and visual effects. The film earned eight nominations overall.
