Raul Barrera, a 34-year-old publicist, plead guilty to murdering Sarah Coit, a 23-year-old former Hunter College student, during a fight the couple had on April 10, 2011. Barrera nearly decapitated his girlfriend during the confrontation in their Manhattan apartment. The former Propaganda NY and Coleman Entertainment group publicist stabbed Coit 24 times, cut her face repeatedly, and sliced Coit across the mouth and jaw with such force that one of the tips of the blades broke in a fit of rage after Coit tried to leave Barrera.
