The music festival Lollapalooza is marking its ninth anniversary in Chicago's Grant Park. The sold-out festival features Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Mumford and Sons, and The Killers.

The three-day festival, which opened Friday, August 2, 2013, is expected to draw 300,000.

Heavy rain overnight and early Friday morning turned Grant Park into a muddy mess just hours before the start of the festival, but that didn't deter fans from showing up.
