On Oct. 20, 2007, Notre Dame football players took the field in retro green and gold uniforms. As it turned out that was the best moment of the day!
On the field with football legend Joe Theismann, who's raising awareness for prostate cancer. He's not on TV this fall, so he was finally able to come to a game. Joe is one of the people featured in my book "Notre Dame Inspirations."
Catching up with former Notre Dame football players Larry Moririty and Greg Bell, who have since gone into business together. It's fun to run into old pals on the sidelines.
The student section at Notre Dame -- they are not a bunch of fair-weather fans. They all stayed there till the bitter end of the 38-0 loss to USC.
A souvenir cookie from the tailgater...needless to say no one ate that one.
The famous golden dome on the administration building at Notre Dame against a picture perfect blue sky. Our school colors by the way are blue and gold.
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the Notre Dame campus, where more than a few people have prayed for a good football season!
This is my favorite place on campus, the Grotto. You can see the statue of Mary in the upper right hand corner. Inside the Grotto are candles that people light for various intensions.
The candles inside the Grotto at Notre Dame. My kids love going there on a busy football Saturday. It's a great place to reflect and to light candles for those who need our prayers.
Watching the game up in the box with my good pal Father Ted Hesburgh, who just turned 90. The former president of Notre Dame made the school co-ed, for which I will forever be grateful.
As one of my daughters remarked, "At least our band was better than theirs at half time." The Notre Dame marching band put on a stellar performance!
