Nutella

In early April, thieves in Germany made off with 5.5 tons of Nutella chocolate-hazelnut spread. Nutella enjoys somewhat of a cult following around the world, but it is more likely these bandits were after the stolen treat's $20,710 price tag.

On April 9, 2013, a Florida man stole a truck containing a whopping $75,000 worth of this iconic American food, the Sun Sentinel reported.
Maple Syrup

Quebec, Canada, was shaken by a massive theft of maple syrup - so valuable it is sometimes called "liquid gold" - from its reserve warehouse in 2012. The exact quantity missing was not disclosed, but is thought to valued in the millions of dollars.

42,000 pounds of Muenster, or a lifetime's worth of grilled cheese sandwich filling, was stolen from a Wisconsin factory in March. State police apprehended a suspect in the cheesy caper while he was driving a refrigerated truck in New Jersey. The stolen merchandise was valued at $200,000.

A bee farmer in England was robbed of 40 tubs of valuable honey in January, which he valued in the "tens of thousands," the BBC reported.
