Eight years since Brian David Mitchell broke into their family home and kidnapped Elizabeth Smart at knifepoint, the jury deliberated just five hours before declaring Mitchell guilty for kidnapping and sex crimes against 14-year-old Smart. Elizabeth has said she is relieved.

Mark Madoff, one of Bernard Madoff's sons, was found dead of an apparent suicide Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 on the second anniversary of his father's arrest, according to a law enforcement official. Madoff's son Mark was found hanged on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 in his New York City apartment of an apparent suicide. Some speculated that the toxic name of Madoff drove Mark Madoff to kill himself on the second anniversary of his father's arrest in the worst investment fraud in American history.
