The Kheer Bhawani temple was originally in Srinagar and was re-built in Jammu by exiled Kashmiri Hindus.
Devotees offer milk and "Kheer" pudding to to the Goddess Rajnya Devi, popularly known as Kheer Bhawani, to whom the temple is dedicated. They believe the pudding turns black to warn of impending disaster.
