New Jersey Democrat Rep. Donald Payne Jr. dies at 65 after 6 terms in office
According to his office, the six-term Democrat had been hospitalized since early April after a cardiac episode, linked to diabetes. Payne served for 12 years in the Newark-area seat his father had held for more than two decades. He is survived by his wife and three children.
