Work Continues To Carefully Remove Graffiti From Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier Of The American Revolution
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Work continues to carefully remove spray paint from the Tomb of the Unkown Soldier of the American Revolution. The memorial in Washington Square was vandalized amid unrest last week.
The words "committed genocide" was sprayed on the limestone background wall.
This is how the monument is looking today. The graffiti is fading.
Officials say because of the monument's porous surface, gentle solvents were needed to clean the stone.
