PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Jungle Book remains the king of the box office. The high-tech remake of the Rudyard Kipling classic earned an estimated $61-million in its second weekend of release, a second-straight first-place finish, pushing its cumulative total close to the $200-million mark.
In second place was the debuting fantasy sequel, The Huntsman: Winter's War, with Chris Hemsworth, Emily Blunt, Charlize Theron, and Jessica Chastain. It took in $20-million on its first weekend.
Third was the holdover comedy sequel, Barbershop: The Next Cut, with $11-million. The other new mainstream attraction, A Hologram for the King, the comedy-drama starring Tom Hanks, earned just over $1-million, good for eleventh place.
Overall, industry-wide totals were behind those of last weekend but ahead of those of a year ago.
