Wednesday's Child: Michael
By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin
Michael, a very motivated 14-year-old, has big ambitions.
"I want to be a pediatrician," he tells KYW's Larry Kane. "I'm already studying the brain. I can tell you 'cerebral cortex,' I can tell you definitions of the brain."
While his future may be in the operating room, he spends his free time in the kitchen.
"I love to cook: meat loaf, fish, chicken alfredo," he ticks off quickly.
(Kane:) "What's your favorite?"
(Michael:) "Spaghetti."
(Kane:) "So, do you like the food the you make, or would you rather eat out?"
(Michael:) "I'd rather cook my own food."
His social worker, Donna Davis, says Michael is very driven but he needs the support of a loving, permanent family.
"He's very directed," she tells KYW Newsradio. "He knows what he wants. And what he needs is a family, to really help direct him and support him in these areas."
