Warm Weather Has Even The Desk-Bound Taking A Break

By Michelle Durham

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A web survey conducted by human resources consulting firm Right Management finds that 65 percent of workers eat lunch at their desks -- if they take a break at all. During yesterday's summer-like weather, plenty of folks headed outside for a few minutes at lunchtime. Was that a habit or a treat?

Does Lee (pictured) take a break and get out at lunch?

"No, I'm guilty of eating at my desk."
Reporter: "How often do you do that versus getting out?"
Lee: "Probably three or four times a week."
Reporter: "Is it just because you want to get out at a decent hour?"
Lee: "I don't usually get out at a decent hour; there's just so much to do."

Shakira says she's guilty of eating lunch at her desk.

"Yes, I'm one of those. It's an excuse not to have to go to the gym!"

Chris has the opposite point of view.

"I always get out. The breeze, enjoying the scenery, the people."
Reporter: "When you get back to work, you're up for the second half."
Chris: "Absolutely, yes. I'm recharged."

Recharged enough, he says, to go fly fishing after his work day is through.
