SOUDERTON, Pa., (CBS) -- The most immediate thoughts and prayers are for Anthony Flick who remains hospitalized in serious condition.
The devastating loss being felt here is hard to calculate.
There were tears, hugs and questions.
The murder of 14-year-old Nina Flick and the stabbing of her 17-year-old brother Anthony who fought to protect her are more than some can take.
"Our hearts are broken. Our communities are broken," Melissa Tarantino of East Greenville said.
"After lunch I would go upstairs and I would see Nina there and always sit there and talk, but now that's not going to happen. That's depressing," Souderton High School student Sivonna Smith said.
Outside Nina and Anthony's Souderton home, more gathered to light candles and lay flowers down on the front porch.
Early Monday morning police say 35-year-old accused killer Bradley Stone entered the Flick's home in Souderton murdering their mother Patricia and father Aaron.
"Standing here in front of this place it's very hard to grasp what actually happened here. You just can't believe it," Kristina Chuliy of Doylestown said.
Many of Nina's classmates wore batman symbols Tuesday at Souderton High School.
"She always said she would be batman someday, and to me she always has been," classmate Kira Marcus said.
At the vigil Tuesday night at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church all six victims were remembered.
"We know that God is with us and he is going to get everybody through this. It's just going to be a long haul," mourner Carrol Vache said.
Many are struggling with why Stone would kill.
"I know friends who have been friends with him for a long time and this was not him," Tarantino said.
Beyond the grief and sense of loss there is purpose, many of the Flick's friends started an online funding page for Anthony, hoping the money will help when he comes home.
By Tuesday night more than $10,000 were raised for Anthony's GoFundMe website.
There is also an effort underway by the Souderton – Telford Rotary to establish a memorial fund for all of the victims.
