Top Upscale Night Clubs In Philadelphia

Sometimes your only option for going out is later in the evening.  Or perhaps you love the nightlife, and love to boogie. So if you prefer it to be a bit more upscale then you want to check out the following top 5 night clubs in Philly. These are places that have either better ambiance or higher quality food and drink for an evening with a bit more class.

Valanni serves up delicious fare and is both a restaurant and bar. Many refer to it as an "upscale nightclub" as they are open until 2 am.  Valanni is in the Washington Square section of Philly and provides a chic décor and great atmosphere. Some of their best dishes to try are the lamb lollipops, pork belly sliders and lobster mac N cheese.  The music is fun and loud and will vary from mellow to club. If you are pulling an all-nighter, you can join them on Saturday or Sunday morning for their brunch where you will find all you can drink pitchers of Bloody Marys.

Bleu Martini is a premier nightclub over in Old City. The evening dance party features mostly current music and techno, provided by a DJ. One of Bleu Martini's claims to fame is being featured in the TV show "It's always sunny in Philadelphia". If you start your evening early happy hour extends until 9pm. The cuisine here is American, Asian and French and you can get sushi here as well. People love the Spanish fries for snacking. You can book private parties and upscale dress is strictly enforced at 10pm. Bleu Martini is open from 4pm-2am gratuities are included in prices.

Down shares with Howl at the Moon next door as far as parking and the rest rooms go, so if you get restless at Down, you can jump over for some karaoke. Down charges a $10 cover on the weekends. Customers describe the atmosphere as a nice mix of people and music styles.  Down brings in different DJ's and you can find out which will be spinning on their website. You can reserve for parties or bottle service as well and they have a VIP room.  You can dress to impress but there is no mandatory dress code.

Tria Café

The Tria Café is an upscale wine and beer cheese bar open late until 1 am (1:30 on Fridays and Saturdays). They serve a full menu of upscale foods like truffled egg toast, figs with prosciutto, and smoked salmon salad among others. This is a place for talk and enjoying each other's company in a nice surrounding. You won't find any TV's or karaoke or other "modern diversions" here. The Rittenhouse square club opened its doors in 2004.

Over in the Rittenhouse Square area is The Franklin Bar a classy upscale bar and lounge open late. This is where you go for late night fun if you prefer none of the fuss. The Franklin Bar is a speak easy type so the conversations are the highlight and the liquor is heavier. The club atmosphere is divided into an upstairs and downstairs for different options on experience. The upstairs is more casual, where the downstairs has seating.  They can whip up many specialty drinks such as The baseball bat, which is bourbon with peanut butter.
