Top Spots For Hard Cider In Philadelphia

Cider is becoming more and more popular as the years go by. These days, quite a few bars are offering a variety of ciders on tap or in bottles and cans. Head to one of the places listed below for some hard cider in Philadelphia.

Eulogy Belgian Tavern
136 Chestnut St.
Philadelphia, PA 19106
(215) 413-1918

Eulogy Belgian Tavern has a humongous beer list and has more than 21 taps and 300 bottles daily. It usually has a cider on tap as well – Stella Artois Cidre, for instance – and an array of bottles and cans. Here, you'll find cider from France (Cidre Bouche Dupont Brut, Clos Normand Brut Cider), the U.K. (Samuel Smith's Organic Apple Cider, Strongbow Cider) and even cider brewed closer to home (Jack's Hard Cider). This Old City pub is in walking distance to Independence Hall, too, so you can get some history in before or after you imbibe.

Memphis Taproom
2331 E. Cumberland St.
Philadelphia, PA 19125
(215) 425-4460

This Kensington bar is perfect for beer lovers, and you'll never get bored with its selection. If you're looking for cider, Memphis Taproom has had Etienne Dupont Organic Cidre on cask and, as far as bottles go, look for Jack's Hard Cider, Samuel Smith's Organic Apple Cider, Etienne Dupont Brut Cidre and Etienne Dupont Cidre de Givre. The food here isn't bad, either. Try the beer-battered kosher dills.

For a local flavor, try the Commonwealth Ginger Cider, or if you're looking for something imported, order an Asphall Cider, Clos du Normande Brut Apple Cider or an Etienne Dupont Cuvee Colete Cider. Monk's Café isn't just known for its huge beer list, however -- try the mussels and fries while you're here.

Philadelphia, PA 19107

Once you order your drink, you can relax by the window and enjoy the view or try your hand at a game of pool or darts. The menu offers elevated bar food, including the scotch filet sandwich and pan seared Atlantic salmon.

Plough & the Stars
