There is a lot of great music happening in Philadelphia, and the music scene draws a big crowd. Up-and-coming artists can find places to try out their own music or share their talented singing voices at some of the best venues in the country. Open mic nights are a great way to share your music with the local community. You never know who may be listening. Grape Room is the place to go in the Manayunk area for good music and dancing. Monday night is open mic night hosted by Justin Phillippi. The doors open at 7 p.m. Sign up at 8 p.m. to perform. The sound system is pretty good, so it's the perfect place to try out your music with the crowd. The bartenders are friendly, and the beverage selection is reasonably priced. It's a great way to spend a Monday night.

The artist-friendly establishment is a great way to try out your music on the locals, and open mic night is the perfect time to do so. Open mic night happens every Monday and is hosted by Cowmuddy. McGillin's Olde Ale House, one of the oldest and most loved pubs in Philadelphia, has an open mic night every Thursday night and should not be missed. The food is reasonably priced and McGillin's offers a wide selection of brews on tap. Be sure to bring your full game when performing for open mic night; rumor has it that the competition is tougher than American Idol.
