The Bards is a small bar located a block away from Rittenhouse Square. Its relaxed vibe makes it a perfect place to connect to free Internet. The Bards never gets too crazy, so if you need to concentrate on your work, you can do it here. This Irish pub is authentic as you can get, and its owner and some of the staff hail from Ireland. The kitchen serves fresh Irish fare and the bar has a great selection of beer. And if you're a student, you get 20 percent off food with your student ID.

South Philadelphia Tap Room is a spacious bar, so there is plenty of room to use its wi-fi at one of its many booths. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Taproom recently unveiled a brand new menu (brunch, lunch and dinner). Come here for happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. when local drafts are half off. The tap room has over 100 international bottles available and the drafts on hand are constantly rotating.

Wrap Shack On The Square is an inexpensive restaurant and bar. Although its interior is small, its menu is extensive. The Wrap Shack is a good place to come during lunch, and the wi-fi allows you to continue working while you enjoy one of its many wraps, appetizers or salads. Plenty of veggie items are available, as well as six drafts and an assortment of bottled beer. The environment is relaxing and laid back, and the bartenders are friendly. It's also a great place to watch a sports game, with drink and food specials running throughout all Eagles games.

Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant is a popular spot in the middle of Center City and a block from Broad Street. It's roomy with many spots to relax, including by its fireplace or on its patio. Fado is packed on weekend nights when it turns into a dance club, but come in on a weekday if you're searching for some free wi-fi. The bar offers a full menu of Irish and American pub fare. If you're feeling adventurous, Fado recommends mixing Guinness with another beer.

Tria is a wine, beer and cheese cafe with locations in Rittenhouse Square and elsewhere in the city. It also serves delicious snacks, salads and sandwiches. The staff is extremely knowledgeable on wines -- this is the place to grab a glass while you work. Every week, Tria posts 'Sunday School' specials on its website for one wine, beer and cheese. These specials are offered only on Sundays, with the goal of allowing you to learn about each wine, beer or cheese.
