Sometimes, you need a side of entertainment with your beer. Up for a game of shuffleboard? Head on over to McNally's in Chestnut Hill.  This bar's got history––it was originally established in 1921 by Rose McNally near the Route 23 Trolley turnout on the highest hill in Philadelphia. Nowadays, you'll find Rose's great-granddaughters, Anne and Meg, just across the tracks in a whitewashed building with cedar shakes over the wide green door and a welcome bench under a single coach light. If you get hungry while engrossed in a heated game of shuffleboard, be sure to try McNally's famous Chicken Corn Chowder or the Schmitter, a one-of-a-kind sandwich with sliced beef, grilled salami, fried onions, and the bar's special Schmitter sauce.
