The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Premieres Tonight
NEW YORK (CBS) – Tonight's the night!
Stephen Colbert makes his debut as host of CBS's "The Late Show."
Fans lucky enough to score tickets to the premiere waited in 90-plus degree heat to witness a bit of TV history.
"He's just a funny guy. He's a witty, funny guy. He's going to bring I think a little more to the table than the other guys are," said fan Sean O'Neill of North Wales.
"Colbert is an intelligent comedian. The satire is wonderful. A big fan, went to his previous show Colbert Report and now looking forward to seeing himt onight," said fan Paul Grasso, of Elverson.
Some last minute tickets were handed out through a lottery giving fans a chance to see Stephen Colbert's return to television.
Since he left his cable talk show in December, Colbert has offered up some laughs online in promo videos at CBS.com.
CBS 3's Ukee Washington recently had the chance to sit down with Colbert and talk to him about his big night. Washington will have more of that interview tonight on Eyewitness News at 11 p.m.
