Temple University Sets PB&J World Record For Good Cause

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Temple University has accomplished a lot, and on Monday night, they added a new accomplishment to that list.

In celebration of Temple PB&J day, more than 1,100 volunteers at the school attempted to break the Guinness World Record for most Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches made in an hour.

The goal was accomplished on Monday night.

A total of 49,100 sandwiches were made in the hour. The goal for the event was set at 40,000 sandwiches and was greatly surpassed.

All of the sandwiches made will be donated to Philadelphia food banks.
