Teen Boy Dies In New Jersey House Fire, 2 Other People Safely Escape, Officials Say
NEPTUNE, N.J. (AP) -- A teenage boy has died after a fast-moving fire raced through his family's central New Jersey home. Monmouth County prosecutors say the fire in Neptune broke out late Tuesday. The home had no power at the time because severe storms had knocked out electrical service in the area.
Firefighters quickly arrived on scene and tried to rescue the 17-year-old boy, but heavy flames prevented the rescue. His body was found after the blaze had been extinguished.
The teen's name has not been released.
