SW Philadelphia Man Charged With Abusing 3-Year-Old Stepson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police have arrested a Southwest Philadelphia man on charges of physically abusing his three-year-old stepson.
Matthew Montgomery, 27, of South Conestoga Street near Woodland Avenue, was arrested yesterday.
Police say Montgomery was taking care of the boy while the mother was at work. Police say the little boy suffered burns to his face and right arm, bruises to his body, and a concussion.
The child was listed is in stable condition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Montgomery is charged with aggravated and simple assault, endangering the welfare of another, and related crimes.
