Store Owner Fighting For Life After Being Shot In Head In North Philadelphia, Police Say
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a convenience store owner was shot in the head as he was closing his business for the night. It happened on the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue in North Philadelphia just after 10 p.m. Sunday.
Police say the 50-year-old man was shot once in the head and is currently in extremely critical condition at Temple University Hospital.
"According to family that were inside and heard it, the minute he walked outside and started closing down the gates, she heard a gunshot and he collapsed," Philadelphia Police Chief Insp. Scott Small said. "She didn't hear any type of argument, so we're not sure if robbery was the motive at this time."
No arrests have been made.
