St. Joe's Mistakenly Sends Student Information In Mass E-Mail
By Justin Udo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Earlier this month Saint Joseph's University's Haub School of Business mistakenly sent a mass e-mail to students that included their upperclassmen's personal information.
The e-mail contained an attached spreadsheet with student names, e-mail addresses, and grade point averages.
Harriot Goodhart the assistant vice president for university communications says the school immediately notified students after the incident and they are looking into went wrong.
"The university is investigating how this happened. We are very concerned about maintaining our students confidentiality."
The e-mail went out to about 500 undergrads in the school.
Goodhart says the university is offering faculty and staff training to help prevent these kind of incidents from occurring in the future.
