The TAPS (Ghost Hunters) crew has been there, and even has interesting evidence on camera.  You may wish to visit for a regular tour, or for the "Terror Behind the Walls" event. For Halloween the Penitentiary gets a spooky makeover complete with animatronics, lights, props, and offers six main attractions. The Cornerstone Bed & Breakfast is a beautifully restored Victorian built in 1865 so it has its fair share of history. The B&B is a family friendly place, but is also interesting to those who are seeking a spooky evening, or those interested in the paranormal. A female apparition has been known to appear in some of the rooms here. It is said she caresses people's foreheads and also has a perfume scent that accompanies her. The owners who are described as friendly (and offer a delicious breakfast) describe the apparition as "Ethereal" and perhaps wonder if she is some kind of angel. Other guests have reported the smell of cigar smoke and being watched. Either way, the Cornerstone does have private baths, comfortable beds and is just minutes from downtown.
