Police: Vehicle Crashes After Driver Shot In Head In Holmesburg

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a man is hospitalized in critical condition after he was shot while driving Wednesday night in Philadelphia's Holmesburg neighborhood.

Police say an accident was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 4700 block of Meridian Street.

Police and firefighters arrived to find a vehicle had struck two parked cars, according to authorities.

Police say responders on the scene realized the 25-year-old driver had been shot in the head.

The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to police.

Police say a teen has been taken into custody.

Police continue to investigate.
