Pre-race ritual: I have a full-body stretch routine that includes joint rotations. Just before I run, I align my spine with a little hand motion trick, then lean in, and take off.
Pre-race snack: A regular breakfast of Weetabix with banana
Tips for new runners: I highly recommend the Jeff Galloway walk-run training method. In addition, start with your posture by learning the chi-running method.
Why he runs: I ran XC in high school then stopped until I was 50. Then my wife and I ran the Disney 1/2 marathon as a bucket list birthday present. Now I run obstacle course races year-round.
