Route 70 was closed in both directions for a period of time from the Route 73 overpass to Locust Avenue due to the downed wires, which caused a large fire on the side of the road.

Route 70 is now open, but Maple Avenue remains closed between Cambridge Avenue and Route 70.

Police were called to the scene just before 5 p.m.
