Residents Evacuated As Crews Repair Gas Leak In Burlington County

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (CBS) -- Crews responded to the scene of a gas leak in Mount Holly, New Jersey Monday morning.

Officials say around 10:56 a.m. a call came in for a leak at Parkers Mill Boulevard and Kirby Court.

Upon arrival, crews found a substantial gas leak and as a precaution all residents in the surrounding area were told to evacuate.

PSE&G says a contractor hit a gas line near 400 Kirby Court and crews and the fire department were at the scene.

Officials say the gas has been turned off and about 50-65 people were evacuated to a nearby school.

Officials say the gas main has since been repaired and some people were without service for about three hours.
