75 Residents Displaced After Flames Rip Through West Vincent Township Apartment Complex

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) - There's nothing left. Dozens of people are homeless after a massive fire gutted their apartment complex overnight in West Vincent Township.

Drone Watch 3 flew over the rubble of the ReNew Glenmoore Apartment Building in Chester County Tuesday.

None of the 75 people who lived in the apartments were physically hurt, but many are dealing with the emotional pain of realizing they have nothing left to their names.

The fire engulfed the roof and destroyed just about everything inside the top floor of the building. Many people were only able to take the cloths on their back when the fire ripped through.

"At quarter to two, I heard a lot of noise outside and I opened my blinds and saw flames on the roof so we ran out. Neighbors were pouring out of the building," resident Susan Kidder said. "Had a real terrible fear because I had two very dear friends and their dog on the fourth floor. I noticed it was on the fourth floor. And people said, 'Don't try to go in the firefighters are here.' Firefighters, EMT, Red Cross were phenomenal."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No one was hurt, but two cats are missing and 75 people are displaced.

Fire officials also say water supply was an issue battling the blaze.
