Prosecutors: New Jersey Man Sentenced To 45 Years In Prison For Killing Friend With Knife, Lamp
BARNEGAT LIGHT, N.J. (CBS) -- A man accused of killing a retired firefighter in Ocean County will head to state prison for 45 years. Prosecutors say Conrad Sipa killed his friend Richard Doody at the victim's house in Barnegat Light in 2015.
Prosecutors say Sipa used a knife and a lamp to kill Doody after a night of drinking.
Sipa contended he was acting in self-defense.
