Police Investigate Shooting Near Football Field In Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE, N.J., (CBS) – Police say one person was injured following a shooting near a football field in Pleasantville, Atlantic County.

At about 7:25 p.m. Thursday, Pleasantville police say they received multiple calls of shots fired near the Jokers Football Field.

Police responded and confirmed the incident location as Fernwood Avenue and Jefferson Avenue, which is across the street from the field, according to authorities.

Police say bleachers were struck by gunfire and children were having football practice at the time.

No one was struck at the time of police arrival, according to authorities.

Police say a person arrived at a hospital shortly after the incident. Police say the injury does not appear to be life-threatening at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing.
