Police Investigate Indecent Assault In Cobbs Creek

By Jim Melwert

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police are trying to identify a woman who was found unconscious Tuesday in Cobbs Creek Park in Philadelphia.

The woman was found in a wooded area near Hazel Avenue and 63rd Street in Cobbs Creek Park, around 3:30 p.m. She was unconscious and partially clothed. Police say she may have been raped.

She was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition, and hasn't been able to talk with investigators.

At this point, there are no suspects. Police are still working to identify the victim. The only description so far is an African American woman who they believe is in her late 20s or early 30s.

Police say that is a popular section of the park, and they hope someone will be able to come forward with information to help the investigation.
