Police Chase Rafting Daredevils Off Rain-Swollen Brandywine Creek

DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Despite recent drownings in our region this summer in rain-swollen creeks and streams (see related story), risk takers are still out there, even after today's drenching downpours.
The deluge this morning created an angry Brandywine Creek, which overflowed in many areas.
In Kerr Park in Downingtown, the creek's overflowing banks drew spectators taking pictures, and a few thrill seekers.
Jason and his friend Daniel grabbed two inflatable swimming pool floats and went down the Brandywine -- something they agreed is a very dangerous thing to do.
"I mean, yes it is," said Jason. "Kids, don't do this at home! I mean, for sure it's dangerous. I mean, it's fun -- you know, a little thrill in the middle of the day. It doesn't cost anything except maybe four bucks for a tube."
One spectator said they're lucky they didn't drown.
"This is the first time I've really seen it this bad," said Karen, from Downingtown. "And two stupid kids riding down on the raft. I mean, that's unbelievable. I did take pictures of them riding down on the raft."

Downingtown police spotted the two young men and gave them a warning about the danger of their actions. The pair then went to dry off.
