Photographer Puts Philadelphia In A New Light
By John Ostapkovich
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you'd like to see Philadelphia in a new light, a photographer's new short video just might do the trick.
Bruce Wayne Berry, Jr, says he was was intrigued by photographer Ross Ching's Empty America series and the opening scenes in this summer's Star Trek movie where all the vegetation was red.
He tricked out his camera and went to re-see his town.
"I'm trying to push the boundaries of time-lapse and, you know, I live in this great city, Philadelphia, and I wanted to put a different spin on what people see every day," Berry said.
Iconic shots, like the Art Museum, Broad Street and Boathouse Row, are not only framed by red-ery instead of greenery but no people or cars. Berry used Photoshop to get rid of them, frame by frame.
Berry says, "It was a pretty time-consuming process and I took the whole summer to work on this project."
