Phillies Forced To Relocate Fans Near Scoreboard For Emergency Repairs

By Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Some baseball fans had to be relocated during the Phillies game last night after a piece of equipment started smoking.

A small motor that operates the protective netting in right field started smoking.

Team officials say a bracket holding the net in place near the scoreboard became partially separated from a support weld, causing the motor to overheat.

Fans in sections 104 and 105 were relocated to different seats as a precaution. Nobody was hurt.

Consultants were called in last night to take a look and structural engineers will be on-site today to oversee the repairs.
