PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The third annual Phillies Charities, Inc. Phantastic Auction garnered nearly $105,000 for charity.
This unique event, held April 23-May 14, gave fans the chance to bid on 50 once-in-a-lifetime experiences with Hall of Famers and All-Stars, as well as exclusive trips, memorabilia and many other Phillies opportunities.
The Phantastic Auction was held in partnership with SportsRadio 94WIP and Talk Radio 1210 WPHT. Both stations provided two days of programming during the culmination of the auction.
"Thanks to incredible fan support, as well as the partnership with SportsRadio 94 WIP and Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, the third annual Phantastic Auction raised nearly $105,000 for Phillies Charities, Inc. and the Phillies Phestival, which benefits the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Association," said Dave Buck, Phillies Senior Vice President, Marketing and Advertising Sales. "The Phillies take pride in giving back to the community as well as being able to offer unique opportunities for our fans."
CBS Radio donated 5 items which amounted to $4400, the top two of which were the WIP Eagles experience, which went for $1550 and the Talk Radio 1210 WPHT VIP Listener Experience which went for $1000.
Phillies Charities, Inc. makes gifts to charitable organizations that serve a wide variety of needs, primarily in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, and particularly those serving the Greater Philadelphia area and the communities of its minor league affiliates.
The net proceeds from The Phantastic Auction will benefit Phillies Charities, Inc., and a portion of those proceeds will be contributed to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Association as part of the Phillies Phestival on June 1, 2015. Nearly $400,000 has been raised for charity since the first Phantastic Auction began.
