Philadelphia's Top Google Searches For 2016
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Google searches become a facet of our culture that sheds a real light on what we're thinking as a society, or at least on what we're curious about.
Google has released the results for their 2016 Year in Search. The lists show what Google users where looking for in the worlds of politics, news, sports, entertainment and more.
So, what was Philadelphia searching for this year?
Google broke the lists down by cities so we here in the City of Brotherly Love can see what we collectively searched for in 2016.
Top Trending Philadelphia Search: SEPTA STRIKE
It looks like people were busy searching for a way to get to work and school. Of all the news stories that took place in Philadelphia, the SEPTA Strike brought the city to a halt, but got people's fingers typing as they checked for alternate ways to get around and for the latest on when the strike would end.

Top Trending Person: HILLARY CLINTON
She might not have won the election, but Hillary Clinton was the top trending person searched for in Philadelphia in 2016. The democratic nominee for POTUS spent a lot of time in Philadelphia. Clinton accepted the nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. She made several campaign stops here and wrapped up her run for the White House with a star studded stop here on the night before Election Day. All those visits, combined of course with research into a candidate, made Clinton our city's most searched for person.

Top Trending Movie: DEADPOOL
The Ryan Reynolds flick was the most searched for movie in Philadelphia over the last year. The film was a bit different from the typical superhero picture, but many saw it as a departure from the usual.

Top Trending "Near Me": TACOS NEAR ME
Everybody likes a good near me search. The top one for Philadelphia in 2016 was "Tacos Near Me." You may assume that "Cheesesteaks Near Me," would be the top search, but true Philadelphians know exactly where their cheesesteak of choice is.
