Philadelphia Police, FBI Seek Suspect For Alleged Bank Robbery

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are asking for the public's help following a bank robbery Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Police say the incident took place at the Polonia Bank branch at 2133 Spring Garden Street.

Authorities say the suspect entered the bank around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Officials say he approached a teller and demanded money, as he said that he had a gun. Police say no weapon was shown.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank on foot.

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his 50's. They add the he is 5'6", 160 pounds with a thin build. Officials say he wore a dark-colored puffy coat, blue jeans, a black baseball cap with white writing and black and white sneakers.

Authorities say the suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the suspect's capture.
