Philadelphia Archdiocese Holds Annual Men's Spirituality Conference

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Archdiocese of Philadelphia held its annual men's spirituality conference Saturday at Archbishop Ryan High School.
It started modestly. In its fourth year, the conference, called Man Up Philly, drew around 1,100 men. MC Eustace Mita says it offers men an opportunity to explore and strengthen their faith.
"It's so easy for men to say 'I go to Mass every Sunday, or I pray every Sunday,' but you have to go deeper in your faith," said Mita.
The conference offers the sacrament of confession and an impressive lineup of speakers. Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers says there's strength in fellowship.
"There's these brothers that are here with me, that are struggling and fighting and on fire for their faith. It really empowers you."
He says the most important lesson is to keep the fire burning.
"Men need to take what they learn from the conference here today, and to go out there and live it, to really use this experience for transformative change."
