November's Election Results Have Been Certified, One Incumbent Republican Has Been Unseated In Phila.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia City Commission has certified the November election results and it's official: Republican Al Taubenberger has defeated incumbent Dennis O'Brien for a City Council-At-Large seat.
It is the race that ends up providing the most drama in Philadelphia's general election -- the five-way race for two minority party seats on council. Four years ago, Dennis O'Brien was the largest vote-getter, while David Oh edged out Al Taubenberger. This time around, Oh won the most votes and Taubenberger beat O'Brien by just under 300 votes.
O'Brien, previously a state representative, was philosophical.
"I very much enjoyed participating in a new conversation in city council. I was able to bring some of the issues I celebrated and advocated for at a state level to city council," said O'Brien.
O'Brien was a champion of youth with intellectual challenges such as autism and says he hopes to stay involved in serving that community.
"That's where my heart is. I have no regrets," said O'Brien.
Taubenberger says he looks forward to serving.
