NJ Woman Charged With Embezzling From High School Wrestling Club

SICKLERVILLE, N.J. (CBS) -- Gloucester Township police in Camden County have arrested the treasurer of a high school wrestling booster club on theft charges.

Police say 44-year-old Sherry Warren of Sicklerville, NJ stole $4,600 from the Highland High School Wrestling Booster Club between December 2013 and March 2014.

Police say the theft came to light after members of the booster club noticed several checks being returned for insufficient funds.

Investigators say their monthlong investigation revealed that Warren, the club treasurer, used the account to pay for personal bills, hotels, car repairs, food, and online shopping.

Warren surrendered to police detectives and has been released after posting ten percent of the $20,000 cash bail.
