New Roller Coaster Slated To Open In Ocean City In 2016

OCEAN CITY, N.J., (CBS) – A new roller coaster is coming to Playland's Castaway Cove in Ocean City, New Jersey and is expected to open in 2016.

The 125-foot GaleForce Roller Coaster's top speed is 64 miles an hour and features seven different elements in the ride, according to Brian Hartley, Vice President of Playland's Castaway Cove.

GaleForce and another coaster will replace the Looping Python and the Flitzer roller coasters, according to Hartley.

Hartley says GaleForce is being manufactured by S&S, of Utah.

Installation will begin mid-January.

Hartley says the coaster is expected to open early to mid-May.
