New Law In Delaware Adds Electronic Smoking Devices To Indoor Smoking Ban
WILMINGTON, Del., (CBS) -- A new law in Delaware makes it illegal to use electronic smoking devices inside restaurants and other indoor places.
On Tuesday, Governor Jack Markell signed a bill that bans people from using electronic smoking devices, including vape pens and e-cigarettes, at all indoor public places in Delaware.
The bipartisan measure adds to the state's Clean Indoor Air Act which prohibits regular smoking at indoor public places.
"The percentage of teenagers who are using e-cigarettes is dramatically increasing," said Gov. Markell.
"That's moving in the wrong direction. And so I think it is really important that we send the signal that this bill sends," said Gov. Markell.
The new law takes effect in 90 days.
