By Dan Wing
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The national office of the NAACP has suspended the longtime head of its Philadelphia Chapter and three board members involved in an ongoing feud involving allegations of financial mismanagement.
In a statement, the NAACP confirmed the suspension of Chapter President Jerry Mondesire, and board members Donald Birts, Sid Booker, and Reverend Elisha Morris for the very public feud. The board members have accused Mondesire of mishandling the group's finances, charges that Mondesire has repeatedly refuted.
Mondesire did not respond to calls for comment.
The suspensions went into effect on April 2nd, and the suspended members have 15 days to file an appeal.
