Montco Teacher Pleads Guilty to Sexual Relationship With Eighth-Grader

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- A former eighth-grade teacher in the Norristown Area School District has admitted in court that she had a sexual relationship with one of her math students, a 14-year-old boy.
Jessica Streeper today pleaded guilty to felony sex charges that could put her behind bars in state prison for several years.
The 34-year-old Bucks County woman was arrested last year after an investigation revealed that she had numerous sexual encounters with the teenage boy last spring, who told police they had sex in her car and at her Doylestown home.
Streeper taught at Eisenhower Science and Technology Academy, in Norristown. Prosecutors say it was an anonymous tip from someone who named the victim that triggered the investigation.
Streeper will undergo an assessment to determine whether she's a "sexually violent predator." Streeper remains free on $100,000 bail while awaiting sentencing.
Montgomery County prosecutor Sophia Polites says she plans to ask for jail time at Streeper's sentencing.
"Teachers, they're entrusted with the responsibility of teaching our children, making sure that our children are safe," she told KYW Newsradio today.
