VILLANOVA, Pa. (CBS) -- A member of Villanova's only national championship men's basketball team weighs in on this year's group that's just a few games away from accomplishing the same feat.
Steve Pinone played on the 1985 Villanova men's basketball team that won a national championship.
"That's something that myself and my teammates remember very fondly and it keeps us bonded for life."
Pinone now works for Villanova and holds the title of senior director of advancement for men's basketball.
He says his thirty plus year relationship with the university is something he treasures. He says watching this group of kids play is fun and exciting, and he thinks they sky is the limit in terms of what they can accomplish.
"I'm just so happy for this group, that they were able to accomplish one of the goals they set out for and hopefully they can get two more and bring the school its second national championship."
The Wildcats take on the Oklahoma Sooners Saturday, and if they win they'll play for a national championship this upcoming Monday.
