Burlington Man Indicted In Fatal Shooting Of Convenience Store Clerk

WILLINGBORO, N.J. (AP) — A man accused of fatally shooting a clerk during a convenience store robbery last year has been indicted on felony murder charges.

Burlington County prosecutors say Eramus Canty is also charged with robbery and a weapons count in the indictment handed up by a county grand jury. The 32-year-old Burlington Township man remains jailed on $750,000 bail.

Authorities say Canty shot Matthew Mwinsori at the Willingboro store on Nov. 25.

The victim was found by police who responded to reports of shots fired. He died a short time later at a hospital.

Authorities say Canty entered the store and demanded money from Mwinsori. They then fought in the parking lot, where the shooting occurred.

Canty was captured in Asbury Park on Dec. 19 after a police officer there saw Canty's car pull into a convenience store lot.
